Exam for critical stretch of waterway, Hungarian sections, exam syllabus

In Hungary, the following sections have been defined as particularly risky for shipping:

  • Danube 1433-1479 rkm
  • Danube 1479-1578 rkm
  • Danube 1578-1640 rkm
  • Danube 1640-1660 rkm
  • Danube 1660-1708 rkm

The exam can only be taken for the entire stage!
The test sheets are in Hungarian or English.

Application conditions required to register for the exam, subject to submission of a completed and signed application form:

  • verify identity,
  • European Union boatmasters' certificate,
  • meeting the minimum requirements laid down by law for obtaining EU certificates of competency for boatmasters (authorised to issue a boatmasters' document but not yet requested),
  • certified completion of at least 8 upstream and 8 downstream journeys on the entire section (on a craft covered by Directive 2017/2397 as a deck crew member) during the 10 years preceding the test,
  • at least three of the 8 upstream and 8 downstream journeys must have been completed within 3 years prior to the exam,
  • payment of the examination fee.

Upon successful completion of the exam, in possession of the boatmaster's certificate, the Hungarian Shipping Examination centre shall, upon request, exchange the certificate for a new, in which the section of critical strech covered by the special permit is entered in the box of the coded individual licences.
