Passenger Shipping Expert (EU) Exam

The exam consists of a theoretical and a practical part.

Theoretical Exam

The theoretical exam is taken by filling in a multiple-choice test sheet.

The test sheet contains 28 multiple-choice test questions.

There is only one correct answer per question.

Answering the test questions correctly is worth 1 point per question. 

The exam lasts no more than 28 minutes from the moment you get to know the questions.

The theoretical exam subject is given a passing grade (M/Pass) if the examinee indicates the correct answer for at least 21 of the 28 questions.

No aids may be used during the exam.

In case of an unsuccessful theoretical examination, the examinee may not be admitted to the practical examination.

Practical exam

After a successful theoretical exam, the practical exam can begin. The examiner checks the professional quality of the implementation of the activities included in the practical exam form. The examiners are free to decide on the content of each exam element.

The location of the practical test (watercraft and shore equipment) shall be equipped with life-saving equipment on passenger ships necessary for the demonstration of the practical test elements, including special life-saving equipment on cabin vessels, in accordance with the applicable standard ES-TRIN 2017/1
