SUPPLEMENTATION FOR NAVIGATION ON INLAND WATERWAYS CLASSIFIED AS MARITIME CHARACTERISTIC

The exam consists of a multiple-choice test subject and an oral exam subject.

Theoretical knowledge of sea navigation (test exam)

The test sheet contains 24 questions. The correct answer must be selected from the possible answer options.

The test exam lasts 24 minutes from the moment candidate get to know the questions.

The exam subject is graded as successful (M/pass) if the examinee indicates the correct answer for at least 18 of the 24 questions.

The use of aids is prohibited during the multiple-choice test.

An oral exam can be taken after a successful test exam.

Knowledge of sea navigation (oral exam)

Before the exam (after a successful test exam), the candidate chooses a list of items, without knowing the content of the lists.

There are 6 tasks/questions on the list.

The examinee may be provided with a maximum of 5 minutes of preparation time. During the preparation period, the examinee may make a note for himself or herself in a way that can be checked by the examiner, which can be used during answering.

The tasks must be carried out with the availability of a nautical chart, appropriate rulers, compass, pencil, eraser, naval publications, announcements, documents, and other necessary supplies.

The questions are answered orally.

The exam subject is evaluated by the examiner.

The examinee passed the exam if he or she answered all the questions independently or with the help of introductory questions, at the professionally expected level. The examinee has not passed the exam if he or she is unable to answer any of the questions satisfactorily with the help of leading questions.
