Type of examination: Practical examination

During the demonstration of the competences, the examiner evaluates the candidate’s ability to:

  • properly use appropriate rescue equipment,
  • safely execute entry into the water,
  • perform a technically correct and adequately rapid in-water rescue, and
  • remove the person in need of rescue from the water onto land.

The examiners are free to determine the specific content of each examination element.

The candidate may achieve a maximum of 10 points for each element.

All examination elements must be evaluated. To successfully pass the examination, the candidate must achieve at least 7 points for each examination element.

Practical examination tasks and examination syllabus:

The candidate demonstrates the ability to apply swimming skills for rescue purposes by completing the following tasks:
1.    Safe entry into the water while wearing a life jacket.
2.    Rescuing the person in need by swimming.
3.    Removing the rescued person from the water.
