We draw the attention of ATPL(A) candidates that in compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 of 3 November 2011 and Decisions 2018/001/R, 2018/011/R, 2019/017/R and 2020/018/R of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, theoretical examinations (for professional pilot licences and instrument ratings) based on European Central Question Bank (ECQB) based on the „old” syllabus – issued in 2016 – must be completed until 31 January 2022. From 01 February 2022 onwards all examinations should be based on the „new” syllabus – issued in 2020.

Those who cannot complete all of the following subjects based on the „old” question bank until 31 January 2022, will need to complete all of these subjects again based on the „new” question bank:

  • 032 – Performance (Aeroplane)
  • 033 – Flight Planning and Monitoring
  • 061 – General Navigation
  • 062 – Radio Navigation

Those who only completed subject 091 – VFR Communications or 092 – IFR Communications based on the „old” syllabus until 31 January 2022, will have to pass examination in 090 – Communications from 01 February 2022.

The question bank update will not affect the period of 18 months given for completion of all the subjects.
