ADN Dangerous Goods Transport Expert Refresher Examination (dry cargo, tank vessel, combined)

Basic Examination
•    The examination is conducted as a computer-based theoretical test.
•    The test comprises 30 multiple-choice questions.
•    Each question has only one correct answer.
•    Correctly answered questions are awarded 1 point each. 
•    The test lasts a maximum of 60 minutes from the time the questions are first viewed.
•    The theoretical examination subject is graded as passed (P) if the candidate selects the correct answer for at least 25 out of the 30 questions.
•    In the event of an unsuccessful examination, the candidate may take a repeat examination in the theoretical part, no earlier than one week following the date of the unsuccessful examination.
•    The ADN Dangerous Goods Transport Expert qualification may be obtained by successfully completing a test sheet compiled from the published test questions.

Scope of Qualification – Three Types of Entitlement
The ADN Dangerous Goods Transport Expert qualification may be obtained in three types of entitlement:
1. Combined – for service on dry cargo vessels and tank vessels
In this case, the test sheets are compiled from questions belonging to the GENERAL, TANK VESSEL and DRY CARGO categories.
2. Dry cargo vessels – for service on dry cargo vessels only
In this case, the test sheets are compiled from questions belonging to the GENERAL and DRY CARGO categories.
3. Tank vessels – for service on tank vessels only
In this case, the test sheets are compiled from questions belonging to the GENERAL and TANK VESSEL categories.

Refresher Examination
•    The examination is conducted as a computer-based theoretical test.
•    The test comprises 20 multiple-choice questions.
•    Each question has only one correct answer.
•    Correctly answered questions are awarded 1 point each. 
•    The test lasts a maximum of 40 minutes from the time the questions are first viewed.
•    The theoretical examination subject is graded as passed (P) if the candidate selects the correct answer for at least 16 out of the 20 questions.
•    In the event of an unsuccessful examination, the candidate may take a repeat examination in the theoretical part, no earlier than one week following the date of the unsuccessful examination.
•    The test used in the refresher examination contains questions primarily concerning the amendments to the regulations that have occurred in the meantime.
